Özdemir's lifeless body, which had bruises on her body, was taken to the morgue of Sivas Cumhuriyet University Medical Faculty for an autopsy. After the autopsy, the woman's body was handed over to her relatives, while her suspicious husband T.Ö. was detained by the police. FAREWELL TO HER LAST JOURNEYÖzdemir's funeral, with a wedding dress placed on her coffin, was buried in the village cemetery after the funeral prayer held at Gökçekaş Village Mosque following the noon prayer. The funeral ceremony was attended by Özdemir's family, Suşehri District Governor Mahmut Fazıl Yıldız, Mayor Ahmet Ayhan Kayaoğlu, and citizens. SUSPICIOUS HUSBAND DENIED THE ALLEGATIONST.Ö., who was detained because bruises were found on Özdemir's body, was referred to Suşehri Courthouse after his procedures at the District Police Department. In the police interrogation, T.Ö. stated that he had no connection to his wife's death, and his procedures at the prosecutor's office are ongoing. THREE DAYS BEFORE THE INCIDENT, HE BEAT HIS WIFE AND ASKED FOR MONEY FROM HIS MOTHER-IN-LAWGonca Özdemir's mother Güldeniz Yılmaz, who lives in Istanbul, stated in her testimony that her son-in-law frequently abused her daughter. Yılmaz mentioned that her daughter had been married for 17 years, had experienced violence multiple times, had been raped, and did not file a complaint due to threats from her son-in-law to kill her children. Additionally, Yılmaz stated in her testimony that three days before the incident, her son-in-law called her and said he took Gonca to the dam, beat her, crushed her hands with a stone, and held a knife to her throat, threatening to kill her if she did not give him 400,000 lira. "I AM NOW EXPECTING HIM TO KILL ME"On the other hand, Gonca Özdemir's conversations with a friend named Ülker on social media drew attention. It was noted that Özdemir mentioned the violence she faced from her husband to her friend, and ultimately stated, "I am now expecting him to kill me."
