A 65-year-old woman named Nergül Taşgöz was hit by an IETT bus while crossing the street using a pedestrian crossing in Gaziosmanpaşa, Istanbul. Taşgöz was taken to the hospital, but despite all the interventions, she lost her life. The moments of the accident were captured by the security camera of a nearby business.
The incident occurred on January 21 in Gaziosmanpaşa around 09:20 on Ordu Street in the Sarıgöl neighborhood. Nergül Taşgöz, who was crossing the street using the pedestrian crossing, was hit by an IETT bus operating the 50A line from Edirnekapı to Gaziosmanpaşa. Upon notification, police and emergency medical teams arrived at the scene. The woman, who was thrown onto the road due to the force of the accident, was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Despite all the interventions at the hospital, Taşgöz lost her life. The bus driver, Vefadin K., who was met with reactions from the surrounding people, was detained by the police. An investigation has been initiated regarding the accident.
