In Kartal, Istanbul, during a parking space dispute, asthma patient Gülerdem T. was physically assaulted by her neighbors Mustafa D., her husband Nurdan D., and Nazire D., who threatened her inside her vehicle, saying, "We will kill you." Following the woman's complaint, two of the three attackers were released from the police station, while one was released by the court under judicial control. The incident of the woman being assaulted was captured on camera.
On February 9, a dispute arose between Gülerdem T. and Nazire D., who live in the same building in the Karlıktepe neighborhood of the Kartal district of Istanbul, and Mustafa D. and Nurdan D. over a parking space.
THEY MET WHILE THE INVESTIGATION WAS ONGOING
After months of ongoing disputes, Gülerdem T., who was beaten, went to the Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on December 13, 2024, to file a complaint and requested a restraining order against her neighbors. On the day of the incident, while the investigation was ongoing, Gülerdem T. parked her car in front of the building. At that moment, Mustafa D. also parked his vehicle in another spot in front of the building.
THEY BEAT THE ASTHMATIC WOMAN
Nurdan D., who got out of the vehicle, opened the door of Gülerdem T.'s car and started arguing over the parking space. During the argument, she threatened the asthmatic woman by saying, "I will kill you," and insulted her; then she started pulling her hair and punching her in the head, arms, and legs. At that moment, Mustafa D. and Nazire D. also beat Gülerdem T. with kicks and punches.
THE INCIDENT WAS RECORDED ON CAMERA
Gülerdem T., who was unable to breathe due to her asthma and was on the verge of death, was threatened once again with the words, "We will kill you." The events were recorded by both a mobile phone and a security camera.
THEY WERE RELEASED UNDER JUDICIAL CONTROL
After the incident, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene upon Gülerdem T.'s report. The health teams, who arrived at the scene shortly, took Gülerdem T., who was injured, to the hospital by ambulance after their initial intervention.
