Ilker Ozdemir, who set sail from the district of Gokceada in Canakkale, found the world's fastest and wildest shark, which is prohibited to be caught, tangled in his fishing nets. Warning the citizens about the Mako shark, Ozdemir said, "Sharks can come close to the shores. These are wild animals. I don't know if they come to the beaches, but let's be careful. Let's look around us."

In the district of Gökçeada in Çanakkale, Turkish fisherman İlker Özdemir, who challenged the Greek Coast Guard units in previous years, found a "mako" type shark, approximately 3 meters long and weighing 500 kilograms, which is prohibited to be caught, tangled in his fishing nets.

In Gökçeada, fisherman İlker Özdemir set out to sea with his friends on a boat to catch fish. He noticed a motionless fish in the water near Kaleköy Harbor. Özdemir found a wild "mako" type shark, approximately 3 meters long and weighing 500 kilograms, tangled in his fishing nets. Özdemir recorded the moments of pulling the "mako" type shark out of the water with his mobile phone.

Fisherman İlker Özdemir, in his social media post, stated that he encountered such a wild species for the first time and said, "We found the fish tangled in swordfish paragat nets at a depth of 40 meters. It was leaning against the shore with the paragat. This means that this animal is roaming in such shallow shores. The mako type shark, one of the world's wildest sharks, is found in waters approximately 40 meters deep. It is a huge fish. Sharks can come to the shores. They are wild animals. I don't know if they come to the beaches, but let's be careful. Let's look around. The world's wildest shark is in Gökçeada. It is approximately 3 meters long and weighs half a ton. The fishing lines have strangled the fish. Because catching this animal is prohibited, but it is dead. Let's give it like this, maybe it will be evaluated. I saw this type of fish on the shore for the first time in my life."

THE FASTEST FISH IN THE WORLD

Mako sharks have an incredibly special skin structure that allows them to swim up to 80 km per hour, making them the fastest fish in the world. Due to their speed, they can cover distances of up to 55 km per day and can actually jump up to 9 meters out of the water! These animals can be found in both tropical and temperate waters in the world's oceans. Mako sharks are distinguished between two species, shortfin mako shark and longfin mako shark. They can reach lengths of 2-4 meters and belong to the mackerel shark family, like their cousins the great whites. Their characteristics include pointed noses, curved, broadened front teeth, and large eyes.
