The definitive cause of death has been determined for the couple Ayşegül Maral (20) and Fatih Özaslan (34), whose lifeless bodies were found in the bathroom of their home after a henna night celebration in the Çavdır district of Burdur. Although initially believed to have been electrocuted during preliminary examinations, the autopsy conducted at the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute revealed that the young couple died from carbon monoxide poisoning that leaked from the water heater.
In the village of Küçükalan, affiliated with the Çavdır district of Burdur, on the evening of April 24th, Ayşegül Maral and Fatih Özaslan, who held their henna night celebrations, went to the house they would live in after the wedding following the ceremony. The next day, at around 09:30, when their relatives, who could not get news from the couple, entered the house, they found Maral and Özaslan motionless in the bathroom.
Upon the notice, health and gendarmerie teams were quickly dispatched to the address. In the checks carried out by the teams, it was determined that the young couple had lost their lives. Following the examinations, Ayşegül Maral's body was laid to rest with tears in the Ceyhan district of Adana, and Fatih Özaslan's body in the village of Küçükalan.
AUTOPSY REPORT REVEALED THE TRUTH
During the initial examinations at the scene, it was considered possible that the couple had died from an electric shock from the water heater in the bathroom. However, the autopsy investigation conducted by the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute to determine the exact cause of death has been completed.
In the prepared autopsy report, it was confirmed that the young couple did not die due to electric current, but lost their lives due to carbon monoxide gas leaking from the water heater in the bathroom.
