CENTURIES-OLD HISTORY
It is stated that the history of Uyuz Pınarı, located in the İsa Divanlı District of Dulkadiroğlu district, dates back centuries. Uyuz Pınarı, shown among Kahramanmaraş's historical water sources, is located inside İsa Divanlı Mosque. Uyuz Pınarı takes its name from scabies, a disease common among the public. Since the past, the water of the spring is believed to be good for certain skin conditions, especially scabies.
THEY COME FROM NEIGHBORING PROVINCES
Mustafa Kaya, who visited Uyuz Pınarı, said, "This is a place good for skin diseases, which we call Uyuz Pınarı. Of course, this spring has a rule; besides the fountain, there is a bathing place here. After bathing, you need not to put on your clothes. Small parasites can pass onto the body through the clothes. God has given a cure everywhere; this water has been analyzed. People come from surrounding cities to seek healing," he said.
A citizen named Hacı Sümbül also said, "They say it is healing water. I am waiting in line to drink water. I will wash my hands and face and leave."
"SOLDIERS WASHED HERE DURING THE WAR PERIOD"
Harun Çetikaya said, "I had red sores on my arm; I used to come here and drink my water. There is also a shower and bathing place. During war periods, soldiers used to bathe here and leave."
Müftü Kirecçi also said, "Its minerals are lower. It is water that relaxes people. May God grant healing to everyone."
