Following the agreement between the US and Iran, oil prices have declined. While Brent crude fell below $83, US President Donald Trump announced that the Strait of Hormuz would reopen. The drop in oil prices also affected fuel, with a reduction of 1 lira and 23 kurus per liter in diesel prices. Gasoline prices remained unchanged.
After 107 days of tension between the US and Iran, an agreement that will bring peace has been reached. US President Donald Trump announced that the agreement was signed electronically.
Trump also announced that the Strait of Hormuz, which is critically important for global energy trade, will be fully opened starting Friday.
OIL PRICES DECREASED
Following the agreement, an optimistic atmosphere prevailed in global markets, and oil prices also declined. The barrel price of Brent crude, closely followed by Turkey, fell below $83 to $82.92. US crude oil (WTI) is trading at $80.72.
DISCOUNT REFLECTED AT THE PUMP
The decline in oil prices has begun to reflect on fuel prices. As of midnight tonight, a discount of 1.23 Turkish Lira per liter was applied to diesel.
After the discount, the liter price of diesel became 65.23 TL in Istanbul, 66.35 TL in Ankara, and 66.63 TL in Izmir.
No change occurred in gasoline prices. The liter price of gasoline stands at 63.03 TL in Istanbul, 63.99 TL in Ankara, and 64.27 TL in Izmir.
