The incident took place around 01:00 yesterday on Deniz Street in the Barbaros neighborhood. According to reports, police officer İ.C., who was on duty in the Traffic Branch of the Lapseki District Police Department, got into an argument with three young men over a right of way issue while driving his civilian vehicle. Other drivers intervened, and the parties were initially separated. However, a new argument broke out between the police officer and the young men when the officer returned to the same area shortly after. The verbal dispute quickly escalated into a fight.
THEY ROBBED HIS GUN AND FLED
According to reports, the police officer who was pulled from the vehicle was assaulted. The three attackers, who took the service pistol from the police officer, who was rendered unconscious, fled in a vehicle. The police officer İ.C., who was taken to the hospital with the help of bystanders, was discharged after treatment and went to the police station to file a complaint against the attackers.
THEY BURIED THE GUN IN AN EMPTY FIELD
According to a report in Sabah, police teams examining security cameras quickly apprehended Saruhan T., Ali Atacan T., and Efe C., who were identified as being involved in the incident. The suspects stated in their testimonies that after realizing the gun belonged to the police, they buried it in an empty field. The gun was found during the search. After their procedures at the police station, Saruhan T., Ali Atacan T., and Efe C. were sent to court and arrested, being sent to prison.
