After a factory left a large number of chocolates and candies, reportedly past their expiration date, at a garbage dumping site in the industrial area, local residents flocked to the area. The crowd, including children, was seen filling bags, sacks, and boxes with the discarded products and taking them away.
Those who wanted to take the chocolates and candies thrown into the landfill almost raced against each other. In the incident that took place in the industrial area in Kanpur city, Uttar Pradesh state of India, a large quantity of products, stated to be past their expiration date, were left at a waste dumping site.
When the presence of chocolates was heard in the vicinity, many people who came to the area entered the landfill to collect the products.

The incident is reported to have occurred around the Panki Industrial Area in Kanpur. According to the account of the person who recorded the footage, a vehicle loaded with chocolates and candies came to the waste area in the region and left many boxes there.
Residents of the area who saw the products being thrown away or learned about the situation later gathered at the site within a short time. As the crowd grew larger, there was a rush inside the dump to collect chocolates.
It was reported that some people carried boxes on their shoulders, while others left the area with bicycles and motorcycles. It was also notable that children were among the crowd.
In reports in the local press, it was claimed that the expiration date on the packaging of some chocolates left in the trash expired in 2024.
