During an inspection conducted by municipal police teams at a bakery in Hatay, rat droppings and sacks chewed by rats were found under pallets at the workplace. The bakery, which did not comply with hygiene rules, had its operations suspended, while a rusty axe found in the deep freezer for breaking ice astonished the municipal police teams. Municipal police director Ali Avan said, 'I feel nauseous right now from the rat feces. There are expired sourdough starters; these can kill people.'
The Dörtyol Municipality Police Department teams continue their inspections uninterruptedly to ensure citizens consume healthy and reliable food.
ANT AND MOUSE NESTS FOUND UNDER FLOUR SACKS
During an inspection carried out by the police teams at a bakery operating in Yeşil Neighborhood, it was determined that the business did not comply with hygiene rules. In the inspection, ant and mouse nests were found under the pallets in the workplace. Moreover, it was determined that mice had torn the flour sacks and that mouse droppings were under the pallets.
IMMEDIATELY SEALED
The police teams sealed the workplace and halted operations at the bakery. When Police Chief Ali Avan asked the employees about the rusty cleaver taken out of the deep freezer, the employee's response that they used the cleaver to break ice and brought it into contact with food caused a reaction.
"THESE KILL PEOPLE"
Noting that bread produced in the bakery with mouse droppings reaches citizens' tables, Police Chief Ali Avan stated that using expired sourdoughs could result in death, saying, "There are ant and mouse nests, and mice have torn the sacks. You are producing food, the floor is like a garbage dump. The bread reaches our tables. I do not allow a place producing food in this filth. There are pallets, but the sacks touch the ground. I am nauseated by the mouse droppings right now. There are expired sourdoughs; these kill people. We are stopping this place. There is a cleaver in the deep freezer; is it appropriate for it to touch food? We are closing this business; I do not accept this mouse filth."
