Search and rescue operations were launched by JAK and AFAD teams to save 2 people who were stranded for 2 days in the mountainous area of Hisançandır after being curious about the King Pool they saw on social media in Antalya and requesting help via the SOS feature of their mobile phones.

Upon seeing videos taken by adventurers heading to the King's Pool located in the Kaplan Kapanı area of Hisarçandır neighborhood, Konyaaltı district, Antalya, A. K. and his girlfriend, whose name is not yet known, set out from Korkuteli to camp and shoot videos over the weekend, arriving at the region.

THEY COULD NOT FIND THEIR WAY BACK

In the area approximately 45 kilometers from the city center, A. K. and his friend drove to the farthest accessible point with their vehicle and then continued on foot.

The couple, advancing through steep rocky and forested terrain, reached the King's Pool after hours of a challenging hike. After spending some time there, A. K. and his girlfriend began their return journey. However, with darkness falling, they lost their way and became stranded in the rocky terrain, unable to find their way back.

THEY ASKED FOR HELP WITH AN SOS MESSAGE

Spending the night in the area where cell phones had no signal, A. K. and his girlfriend requested help from their relatives by sending messages using the SOS feature of their phones. Their relatives, alerted by the distress message from A. K., managed to reach A. K.'s vehicle in the forested area with the help of a local citizen familiar with the region.

JAK AND AFAD INITIATED A SEARCH OPERATION

After A. K.'s relatives reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center, a team from the Gendarmerie Search and Rescue (JAK) Command and an AFAD unit were dispatched to the area. JAK and AFAD teams, traveling to the designated location with off-road vehicles, began an operation using drones to identify the whereabouts of the stranded individuals from the air.

Acting on the coordinates determined through SOS messages sent from A. K.'s cell phone, the teams launched an effort to rescue the two people stranded in the forested and steep rocky area.
