Göztepe, who failed to win in their first six matches, defeated Kocaelispor in the 8th week of the Trendyol Süper Lig, securing their second consecutive victory.
İzmir side Göztepe, who made a nightmare start to the Süper Lig, had failed to win any of their first 6 league matches.
FAILED TO WIN THEIR FIRST 6 MATCHES
Göztepe began the new Süper Lig season with a 3-3 draw away to Samsunspor, then left the pitch with defeats against Gençlerbirliği, Galatasaray and Gaziantep FK. The yellow-and-reds, who struggled to get their first win, then drew with Alanyaspor and Çaykur Rizespor in the next two weeks.
2 CONSECUTIVE WINS
The İzmir side entered the international break without a win, and during this period stepped up their training with the recovery of injured players. After the international break, Göztepe faced Eyüpspor away. The yellow-and-reds defeated their opponent by a convincing scoreline of 4-0 to secure their first win of the season. Buoyed by these 3 points, Stanimir Stoilov’s students last travelled to face Kocaelispor. Göztepe won the tough contest 2-1, securing their second consecutive victory and extending their unbeaten run to 4 matches. The İzmir representative raised their points to 9, moved up to 13th place in the league and moved away from the relegation zone.
TARGET IS THE ÇORUM FK MATCH
The İzmir side, who have earned both of their wins in the Trendyol Süper Lig away from home, have not yet experienced the joy of 3 points in front of their fans. The yellow-and-reds aim to beat Çorum FK in the match they will play at Gürsel Aksel Stadium on Sunday, October 25, thereby both extending their winning streak to three matches and securing their first home win of the season.
COLLECTED 1 POINT AT HOME
Stanimir Stoilov’s students have suffered 2 defeats and 1 draw in the 3 matches they have played in front of their fans this season.
