In the report prepared by the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Fırat Baykara, Yavuz Güngör, and Yiğit Hüseyin Ayvalık were named as suspects. The report stated that Sedef Güler's lifeless body found in the sea was wrapped in a carpet, and it was determined that her hands were bound with packing tape, and her feet were tied with chains and weights. It was also mentioned in the report that there was a carpet cleaning factory label on the carpet that Sedef Güler's lifeless body was wrapped in. When police teams went to the company on the label, it was stated that the carpet was given by a person named Zafer E. Zafer E., whose statement was taken by the security forces, said he was in the real estate business and explained that he rented the house where the carpet was found to Fırat Baykara. It was also determined during the investigation that the house where the carpet was found was rented by Baykara and was used together with a suspect named Yavuz Güngör.
THEY PLANNED TO DISPOSE OF THE BODY
In the examinations, it was stated in the report that on June 4, a person dropped Sedef Güler off at the residence where Yavuz Güngör lived with his daughter. Here, a dispute broke out between Sedef Güler and Yavuz Güngör's daughter Y.H.G., and it was recorded that Yavuz Güngör went to the house rented in the name of Fırat Baykara with Sedef Güler. It was revealed in the report that Fırat Baykara later came to the house. The report stated that Yavuz Güngör and Fırat Baykara killed Sedef Güler for an undetermined reason and planned to dispose of the body, leaving the house to meet again the next day. It was also expressed in the report that the suspects met again on June 6 and took the suitcase, chains, and weights to put the victim's body in.
THEY THREW HER INTO THE SEA FROM THE MİMAR SİNAN BRIDGE
It was recorded in the report that Yavuz Güngör and Fırat Baykara bound Sedef Güler's hands with packing tape, wrapped her in a carpet, tied her feet with chains and weights, and threw her down from the Mimar Sinan Bridge. In the indictment, it was stated that Baykara later went to the police and said, "Yavuz called me to his residence in Gürpınar. When I went to the house, I saw a woman lying motionless, I checked, there were no signs of life. When I wanted to inform the police, Yavuz Güngör pointed a gun at me. After getting chains and weights from the hardware store, we wrapped the woman in a carpet. On July 7, we went to the Büyükçekmece beach side. We threw the body into the water from the bridge," he stated.
Yavuz Güngör, in his statement, said he met the victim Sedef Güler 4-5 months ago, stating, "On June 4, I came to the house where I lived with my daughter. Sedef was with me. My daughter kicked us out of the house. After being kicked out, we moved to another address with Sedef Güler. Sedef told me that her hands and feet were tied here. In the morning, she said she was in bad condition. I called Fırat Baykara, he came. Then we parted ways to meet again with Fırat. When we met again, we bought two chains, two padlocks, and tape from the hardware store. On the same day, we went to the address where we left Sedef. We wrapped the body in a carpet. On June 7, we threw the body from the place where the sea meets the lake," he said. The report stated that Yavuz Güngör was sent to Greece through Yiğit Hüseyin Ayvalık but was later returned to the country in some way, and Güngör was caught in Edirne.
THE CAUSE OF DEATH COULD NOT BE DETERMINED
It was stated that the cause of death could not be determined as a result of the autopsy performed by the Forensic Medicine Institution on Sedef Güler. On the other hand, in the examination of the 1st Specialization Department of the Forensic Medicine Institution, it was evaluated that the victim had drugs in her blood, and her death could have resulted from drugs or stimulants, but due to advanced decomposition in the head and neck area, detailed analysis could not be performed on the soft tissues.
In the report, it was requested that Fırat Baykara and Yavuz Güngör be sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for the crime of 'qualified intentional murder'. For Yiğit Hüseyin Ayvalık, it was requested that he be sentenced to imprisonment from 6 months to 5 years for the crime of 'aiding a criminal'. It is expected that the report will be sent to the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office for the trial to be conducted.
