Amedspor, which achieved promotion to the Süper Lig, included the names of many neighboring provinces in its championship post but did not include the city of Batman. Following this development, Batman Petrolspor's management, which had congratulated Amedspor on social media for their promotion to the Süper Lig, removed the post in which they congratulated the green-and-red team.
Amedspor Club, which achieved the feat of being promoted to the Super League as champions of the Trendyol 1st League, came face to face with the neighboring city Batman due to a detail in the championship post shared on their social media accounts.
THE NAME OF THE CITY OF BATMAN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE POST
In a post shared by Amedspor on their social media accounts after the championship, while the names of many provinces in the region were included, it was noticed that the name of the city Batman was not mentioned. This situation caused discomfort in the Batman Petrolspor community.
RESPONSE FROM BATMAN PETROLSPOR TO AMEDSPOR
After Amedspor declared their championship, Batman Petrolspor management, which had issued a congratulatory message, did not remain silent over this development. The Petrolspor management, considering the omission of Batman in Amedspor's post as a "discourtesy," removed the congratulatory message they had published.
The statement made on the club's social media account included the following expressions:
"Following Amed Sportif Faaliyetler' promotion to the Super League, a congratulatory message was published by our club.
The happiness of our neighbor and brother people of Diyarbakır has also been reciprocated on the streets of Batman. However, the deliberate omission of the name of our province Batman in the animated video shared on Amedspor's official account after their championship has been assessed by us as a divisive approach contrary to the unifying and solidarity-based spirit of football.
This stance has been deemed unacceptable by our club, which believes in the unifying power of sports.
Our club, which feels the happiness of the people of Diyarbakır in its heart, did not remain indifferent to this development and has decided to remove the congratulatory message it previously published. Respectfully announced to the public."
