In the Manavgat district of Antalya, two of three people keeping watch to protect their fields from wild boars opened fire, mistaking a sound coming from the bushes for a boar. As a result of the gunfire, their 47-year-old relative Abdullah Türk was hit and killed, and two individuals have been detained in connection with the incident.
In Beşkonak neighborhood of Manavgat district in Antalya, last night Abdullah Türk (47), his brother-in-law Ramazan T. (38), and his nephew Fatih T. (21) went to their wheat field to protect their crops from wild boars that had been entering the field for some time, as they did the previous night. The three, who went to guard against boars in their field located in the Karahanlar area, dispersed around the field and began their watch.
MISTAKING RELATIVES FOR WILD BOARS, THEY SHOT THEM
After a while, hearing a sound coming from the grass and mistaking it for a wild boar, Ramazan T. and Fatih T. fired their shotguns in the direction of the sound. As a result of the gunfire, Abdullah Türk was wounded in the head and body. Abdullah Türk died at the scene, while an investigation was launched by the Manavgat District Gendarmerie Command, Beşkonak Gendarmerie Station, the Gendarmerie Detectives JASAT, and the Gendarmerie Crime Scene Investigation teams.
HE LOST HIS LIFE
As a result of the investigations, it was determined that 47-year-old Abdullah Türk lost his life due to pellets from the shotguns of his brother-in-law Ramazan T. and his nephew Fatih T.
THEY WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
It was reported that Ramazan T. and Fatih T., who were taken into custody by gendarmerie teams on charges of 'causing death by negligence,' would be sent to court after their procedures at the gendarmerie.
