Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf targeted the US following Israel's attack on southern Beirut. Ghalibaf stated, "Israel's attack on Beirut shows that America either lacks the will to fulfill its commitments or does not have the power to do so." At a time when an agreement between the US and Iran is being discussed, Ghalibaf noted in his remarks that advancing the process under current conditions is difficult.
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Parliament, made notable statements following Israel's attack on the southern suburbs of Beirut. Ghalibaf stated that the attack raises serious questions about the US commitments in the region.
"THE US EITHER DOESN'T WANT TO OR CAN'T"
Ghalibaf noted that Israel's latest attack creates questions about Washington's capacity or willingness to fulfill its promises, saying, "The Israeli regime's attack on the southern suburbs of Beirut once again showed that the US either lacks the will to implement its commitments or does not have the power to do so."
"THE GOOD COP-BAD COP GAME IS OUTDATED"
Criticizing US support for Israel, Ghalibaf argued that this approach would not contribute to the negotiation process. Ghalibaf said, "You cannot gain concessions by giving a green light to the Israeli regime. The good cop-bad cop game is now outdated."
STATEMENT CASTING SHADOW ON AGREEMENT PROCESS
In the statement made during a period when a potential agreement between Washington and Tehran is being discussed, Ghalibaf noted that it is difficult to advance the process under current conditions. The Iranian official stated, "If you do not have the will and power to fulfill your commitments, it is not possible to talk about continuing the process."
