THE TAXI DRIVER COULD NOT HIDE HIS SURPRISE
Stating that he has been driving a taxi for a long time but has never taken passengers out of town before, Adem Kaya said, "While I was waiting at the stand, a woman and a man came. They said Giresun, and I said okay. When they said Giresun, I thought of Giresun Street, which is 2 kilometers ahead, and headed there directly. When we reached the end of Giresun Street, I noticed the passengers didn't get out. I said, 'Is this where you want to get off? We're here.' They said, 'We want to go to Giresun.' I was very surprised when they said we need to go to Giresun. It's a very long distance, a 7-8 hour journey. I asked, 'Are you serious?' Because this has never happened to me before. They said yes and asked, 'Can you take us if possible?' Since my car had just been serviced, I trusted my car and myself. Without any hesitation, I left from here and took them directly to Giresun," he said.
HE FELT FEAR AND EXCITEMENT AT THE SAME TIME
Kaya, who said he was afraid the high taximeter fare wouldn't be paid, said, "They bought me food on the way and treated me very nicely. I arrived safely in Giresun at 01:00 AM. They also called me there and hosted me. It was a very nice and strange journey. I've never experienced anything like this. Because the distances we cover are usually short, 200-250 lira or 3-5 minute trips, so I was very surprised. The total taximeter fare came to 28,591 lira. At the entrance of Giresun, I was both scared and excited. Because I was worried whether I would get my money. Since the amount was large, both good and bad thoughts came to my mind. I entrusted myself to God, and the money was paid," he said.
