In the Deposits with Deposit (DWD) System, the "Mobile DWD" application is being launched. Thanks to the new system, deposit refunds can now be made at markets, grocery stores, and kiosks. Citizens will receive 1 TL for each package they return, while businesses participating in the system will receive a 50 kuruş incentive for each package they collect.
A new application is being launched within the Deposit-Bearing Packaging (DBP) System, carried out by the Turkish Environment Agency (TÜÇA) under the coordination of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. With the mobile terminal called "Mobile DBP", markets, grocery stores, and kiosks that do not have a Deposit Return Machine can also be included in the system as Manual Return Points.
RETURN PROCESS WILL START WITH MOBILE PHONE
The Mobile DBP device, which will be provided free of charge to businesses registered in the Deposit Information Management System, will perform barcode verification, counting, registration, and data transfer operations through a single device.
Citizens will start the return process by scanning the QR code on the device with their mobile phones. Then, the barcodes of beverage packaging with the DBP logo will be scanned into the device. The verified packaging will be recorded in the system, and when the process is completed, an incentive fee of 1 TL for each packaging will be transferred directly to the DBP Wallet.
50 KURUS FOR EACH PACKAGING FOR RETAILERS
With the new application, markets, grocery stores, and kiosks can join the system without making an additional machine investment. Businesses will deliver the packaging they receive from citizens to authorized field operators and receive an incentive payment of 50 kurus for each packaging.
In this way, citizens will be able to make deposit returns more easily in their neighborhoods, and retailers participating in the system will earn additional income.
TARGET: A WIDER RETURN NETWORK
Nurullah Öztürk, President of the Turkish Environment Agency, stated that with the Mobile DBP application, they aim to make the deposit return network more accessible across the country. Öztürk expressed that the application will both facilitate citizens' access to return points and make retailers an active part of the recycling system.
