THEY CONFISCATED THEIR PASSPORTS AND FORCED THEM TO WORK
Teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Anti-Smuggling and Border Gates Branch Directorate determined that a house in Bakirkoy Osmaniye Neighborhood was used by a prostitution ring. During the examinations, it was determined that foreign women without residence and work permits were kept in this house, and their passports were confiscated and they were forced to work.
THEY GATHERED CUSTOMERS THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA
The teams, who placed the house under surveillance, detected that many foreign women were entering and exiting the address. It was revealed that the gang members opened live broadcasts on social media platforms and directed people without residence and work permits to specific communication channels.
THEY TRIED TO ESCAPE FROM THE BALCONY WHEN THEY SAW THE POLICE
Following technical and physical surveillance, an operation was carried out at the address yesterday. During the raid, 14 foreign women who tried to escape by climbing from the balcony of the house to neighboring apartments were rescued by police teams. The 4 suspects identified as leading the human trafficking and prostitution ring, Y.B., H.D., A.D., and O.R., were caught red-handed and detained.
GANG LEDGERS AND DIGITAL DOCUMENTS SEIZED
During the searches at the house, 17 mobile phones, 1 tablet, and numerous ledgers kept by the gang were seized. While the procedures for the 4 detained suspects continue at the police station, 7 of the rescued women without residence permits were sent to the Repatriation Center for deportation. It was learned that the procedures for the other 7 women with residence permits are ongoing at the police station.
