Tensions escalated during the condolence ceremony for Can Polat, who lost his life in an armed attack in the Çeşme district of İzmir. An argument that began with the grieving family blaming the Polat family turned into a fight; Engin Polat, his brother, and father were forcibly removed from the mosque.
The waters are not calming down after the death of Can Polat, who worked as the bodyguard of Dilan Polat and is also the cousin of Engin Polat.
A major crisis erupted between the two sides before the mevlit to be held at Ataşehir Küçükbakkalköy Merkez Mosque for Polat, who was a victim of an armed attack.
TENSION ERUPTED AT CONDOLENCE
According to the news on Show TV; during the condolence program held at the mosque yesterday, tension suddenly escalated between Can Polat's family and Engin Polat. Following the grieving family's reaction, who blamed the Polat couple for the murder, the verbal argument quickly grew into a physical fight. Engin Polat, caught in the middle of the scuffle, along with his brother and father, had to be forcibly removed from the mosque by bystanders intervening.
CASE TRANSFERRED TO ISTANBUL
Within the scope of the investigation into the Can Polat murder, the murder suspect Serhat Altun and another suspect detained were referred to the courthouse. Since the main branch of the investigation is in Istanbul, the case was transferred to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
