A house built on top of a rock in Kemaliye district of Erzincan, accessed by climbing 96 steps, draws the attention of onlookers.

Kemaliye district, which stands out with its historical texture, natural beauties, and adrenaline-filled activities, hosts a large number of visitors, especially in the summer months. The district, which draws attention with its natural areas such as Karanlık Canyon, Taş Yol, and Dilli Valley, which are among the world's few canyons, welcomes thousands of local and foreign tourists every year.

The house on the rock, which has become one of the symbols of the district, attracts attention. The house, built on the summit of the rock years ago by retired teacher Bekir Taştan and his wife Nermin Taştan, draws the interest of visitors coming to the district.

CONSTRUCTION TOOK 2 YEARS

The couple, who settled in Kemaliye after their working lives in Istanbul to lead a quiet life, built the house with their own means. The construction of the house, where sand, cement, and stones were first carried to the foot of the rock and then lifted to the summit with a primitive cable car system, took approximately 2 years.
