Three suspects arrested in connection with the killing of national gymnastics coach Funda Bakış (39) in a knife fight that broke out over a financial dispute in Sancaktepe have been referred to the courthouse.
The procedures at the police station were completed for 3 suspects taken into custody by teams from the Homicide Bureau of the Istanbul Police Department's Public Order Branch regarding the killing of national coach Funda Bakış in a knife fight on Sevenler Street in the Abdurrahmangazi neighborhood.
Z.G. (21), E.Ş. (21), and A.H.U. (21), released from the Homicide Bureau, were referred to the courthouse.
It was learned that suspect Z.G. used the knife in the fight, and the others were present at the scene during the incident.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On Sevenler Street in the Abdurrahmangazi neighborhood, an argument broke out between Bakış and Z.G., who was previously known to have worked at her gym. When the argument escalated, Z.G. stabbed Bakış in the chest, causing her death.
As a result of the police investigation, Z.G., along with E.Ş. and A.H.U., who were determined to be involved in the incident, were taken into custody.
The investigation revealed that during the time suspect Z.G. worked at Bakış's gym, he had taken out a loan and given the money to Bakış, and there was a financial dispute between the two. Furthermore, it was learned that suspect Z.G. had a record for "insult" and A.H.U. for "intentional wounding."
