In the Sorgun district of Yozgat, 15-year-old Mehmet Akkaya, who fell ill 4 days ago due to a tick bite, died at Ankara Etlik City Hospital where he was referred. Against the risk of infection, Akkaya's body was buried using an excavator.
A 15-year-old child being treated in Ankara under suspicion of Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) has died.
HAD BEEN UNDER TREATMENT FOR 4 DAYS
Mehmet Akkaya, living in Sorgun, was bitten by a tick 4 days ago. After feeling unwell, Akkaya was taken to Sorgun State Hospital by his relatives.
DIED IN THE HOSPITAL
Later transferred to Ankara Etlik City Hospital and placed under treatment in the Anesthesia Intensive Care Unit with suspicion of CCHF, Akkaya could not be saved despite intervention.
BURIED WITH A SHOVEL
Akkaya's body, taken by his relatives, was interred in Akdağmadeni District Cemetery with precautions against the risk of contamination.
