Millions of retirees in Turkey were curious about the holiday bonuses they would receive during Ramadan and Eid al-Adha in 2025. Today is the last day of the payment schedule for the holiday bonuses, which have been increased from 3,000 lira to 4,000 lira.
The first 4 articles of the Law Proposal on the Amendment of the Youth and Sports Services Law and Certain Laws and Decrees, which includes the increase of the holiday bonus for retirees to 4 thousand lira and regulations regarding birth assistance, were accepted in the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM).
Payments of bonuses that retirees have been waiting for a long time continue. Since the discussions in the TBMM did not take place for an additional increase of 1 thousand lira for 2025, it was on the agenda for the old amounts to be deposited into accounts before the holiday, and the additional amounts to be deposited after the holiday.
THE FIRST PART OF THE BONUSES IS BEING DEPOSITED INTO ACCOUNTS
The process continues for the Ramadan holiday bonus that millions of retirees are waiting for. While the first two groups of those receiving monthly payments under SSK (4a) will be paid on Monday and Tuesday, the calendar is also in effect for the remaining ones. Today, the bonuses of SSK retirees who are insured with numbers 20, 21, and 22 are being deposited into accounts. BAĞ-KUR (4b) retirees will receive their bonuses on March 27.
It is expected that the discussions regarding the increase in the retirement bonus will be addressed in the first session of the TBMM, but due to the approaching Ramadan holiday, it was brought to the agenda for the old amounts to be deposited into accounts before the new regulation is completed. Since it was understood that the proposal to be approved in the TBMM could be published in the Official Gazette and come into force after the Ramadan holiday, it was decided to ensure that the old amounts are deposited before the holiday to prevent retirees from being disadvantaged.
LAST DAY FOR SSK BONUSES IS TODAY
In a statement made from the official social media account of the T.C. Social Security Institution, the payment days for the holiday bonus of 3000 TL were announced.
Accordingly;
Payment day for those receiving monthly payments under SSK (4a):
- For those with numbers 17, 18, 19: March 24
- For those with numbers 20, 21, 22: March 25
- For those with numbers 23, 24, 25, 26: March 26
Payment day for those receiving monthly payments under BAĞ-KUR (4b): March 27
Payment day for those receiving monthly payments under the Retirement Fund (4c): March 28, along with the April period monthly payments.
WHEN WILL THE REMAINING 1 THOUSAND LIRA BE DEPOSITED?
The proposal will be published in the Official Gazette after being approved by the President following its acceptance in the General Assembly of the TBMM. After the law regulating the holiday bonus for retirees is published in the Official Gazette, the unpaid difference of 1 thousand TL will also be deposited into accounts.
Those receiving widow and orphan pensions will benefit from the bonus according to their share ratios. A payment of 75% will be made to those receiving a salary from their spouse, 50% to those who are retired or working and receiving a salary from their spouse, and 25% to orphans.
