METAL BOLLARD HIT THE POLICE OFFICER
The incident occurred yesterday around 5:00 PM in the central Yıldırım district, on Ankara Road in the Anadolu neighborhood. The light commercial vehicle with license plate 16 AOY 390, driven by Şerafettin S., lost control as it approached the Davutdede Metro Station on Ankara Road in the Anadolu neighborhood while heading towards the city square. The swerving vehicle collided with a trash container located in front of the gas station and a metal bollard at the entrance of the station.
As a result of the collision, the trash container knocked down Elmira D., who was passing by, while the approximately 1-meter-long bollard that flew off hit police officer Bilal Y., who was sitting in front of the gas station's price board and was off duty. Elmira D. was unharmed in the incident, but Bilal Y. was injured due to the blow to his head. After the first intervention by the medical teams who arrived at the scene upon notification, police officer Bilal Y. was taken to Bursa High Specialization Training and Research Hospital. It was learned that Bilal Y.'s condition was serious. Police teams that arrived at the scene detained the driver of the light commercial vehicle, Şerafettin S.
