In the Bozdogan district of Aydin, 37-year-old C.D., who had gone out to guard his fig orchard against wild boars, shot and killed his 70-year-old father, K.D., after mistaking his silhouette for a boar in the dark. The son, who became a patricide by accidentally shooting his father as he returned from a restroom break, was arrested and sent to prison by the court after his procedures at the gendarmerie.
In a tragic incident in Aydın's Bozdoğan district, a man on boar watch mistook a silhouette for a boar and shot his own father, causing his death.
NIGHT WATCH AT FIG ORCHARD
The incident occurred in the Kazandere neighborhood of the district. According to the information obtained, 70-year-old K.D., along with his 37-year-old son C.D., began a boar watch at night to protect his fig orchard.
During the watch, the elderly man briefly left their side to answer the call of nature and returned to the orchard after a while. His son C.D., mistaking the sound and silhouette in the darkness for a boar, fired his shotgun. Realizing he had shot his father, the son immediately reported the situation to health and gendarmerie teams.
COULD NOT BE SAVED DESPITE ALL INTERVENTIONS
K.D., seriously injured by the buckshot from the shotgun, was rushed to Bozdoğan Rasim Menteşe State Hospital by an ambulance dispatched to the scene. However, the elderly man could not be saved and died despite all the interventions by doctors. The unfortunate man was laid to rest after a funeral ceremony held in the Hisar neighborhood.
SON WHO SHOT HIS FATHER ARRESTED
After the incident, C.D., detained by gendarmerie teams, was referred to the courthouse after his procedures at the police station were completed. The suspect, arrested by the judicial authorities, was sent to prison.
