In the Derince district of KOCAELİ, Soner Ata (44) was found dead, hanging in his home. His 12-year-old son N.E.A., who has Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), was taken to the hospital for treatment after it was determined that the plug of the device he was connected to had been pulled out.
FATHER COMMITTED SUICIDE, SON WITH SMA IN INTENSIVE CARE
Soner Ata, residing on Furkan Street in Fatih Sultan Neighborhood of Derince, was found hanging by relatives who came to the house. The family noticed that the plug of the device their son N.E.A., who has SMA, was connected to had been pulled out. Upon the family's report, health and police teams were dispatched to the address. Health teams determined that Soner Ata had died. N.E.A. was taken to Derince Training and Research Hospital. After initial intervention, N.E.A. was transferred to Kocaeli City Hospital. It was reported that N.E.A.'s treatment in the intensive care unit continues.
BURIED
After the autopsy procedures, Soner Ata's body was received by his family and brought to the Ulu Mosque in Derince. Following the funeral prayer held at noon, Soner Ata was laid to rest in the Çınarlık Cemetery.
