Cihat İlkin, who was seriously injured in an accident that occurred while trying to remove a steel structure roof in Sultanbeyli, lost his life in the hospital. İlkin's body, taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy, was handed over to his family after the procedures. It was learned that Cihat İlkin was a civil engineer.
A terrible accident occurred yesterday around 12:30 at a construction materials warehouse located on Açelya Street, Hasanpaşa Neighborhood. According to the information obtained, two people sought help from a crane to relocate the steel structure roof of the warehouse. However, during the lifting, the crane's rope snapped, causing the heavy roof to fall down with a loud noise.
TRAPPED UNDER THE ROOF
In the incident, civil engineer Cihat İlkin and A.A., who was with him, were seriously injured after being trapped under the roof blocks. Upon reports from those nearby, fire brigade, police, and medical teams were dispatched to the address. The injured were rescued from the rubble as a result of the fire brigade's race against time, and after initial intervention at the scene, they were taken to the hospital by ambulances.
COULD NOT BE SAVED DESPITE ALL INTERVENTIONS
Among the injured admitted to the hospital for treatment, civil engineer Cihat İlkin could not be saved despite all efforts of the doctors and lost his life. It was learned that the other injured person, A.A., continues to receive treatment.
İlkin's body was received by his family from the Forensic Medicine Institute Morgue, where it had been taken for autopsy procedures. It was reported that the young engineer's funeral would be sent off on his final journey at Ihlamurkuyu Cemetery. The investigation into the incident continues.
