U.S. President Donald Trump announced in an interview with a magazine while his special representative Witkoff was meeting with Putin in the Kremlin that Crimea, which Russia occupied in 2014, will remain part of Russia.
"THERE IS NO CHANGE IN THE PRINCIPLES OF PEACE TALKS"
The spokesperson for the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement that there has been no change in the principles of peace talks, including that Ukraine will not recognize any part of its territory as belonging to Russia.
Trump's Secretary of State during his first presidential term, Pompeo, had said in 2018 that the U.S. rejected "Russia's attempt to annex Crimea" and promised to continue until Ukraine's territorial integrity is restored.

After announcing the customs tariffs, Trump mentioned that Chinese leader Xi Jinping also called him, stating, "Negotiations for an agreement are ongoing." Trump also expressed hope that Saudi Arabia would join the Abraham Accords, which he implemented during his first presidential term, aimed at normalizing relations between Israel and Arab countries.

In response to the question asked in the interview, "Will you meet with Iranian leader Khamenei?" Trump answered, "Of course."
