US President Donald Trump made striking statements regarding the financial support provided to Israel after the voting process began. Trump said, "We will no longer pay money to Israel. We reached an agreement with Netanyahu. We have suspended the annual $4 billion payment. If they ask for aid, we will provide it."
As voters in the U.S. head to the polls for the midterm elections, President Donald Trump made remarks on Fox News' Fox and Friends program about military aid to Israel.
Trump said, "As for the payments to Israel, we had an agreement with Bibi Netanyahu under which we give $4 billion a year. Months ago we agreed to stop it. We had already agreed that we will not make payments to Israel until the end of this year."
"ISRAEL NO LONGER NEEDS THIS AID"
Trump, noting that Israel no longer needs U.S. financial support, said that some Democrats and left-wing politicians used military aid to Israel in their criticism of Republicans.
Trump announced that annual military aid payments to Israel will be stopped at the end of 2026.
"IF THEY NEED IT, WE WILL HELP"
The U.S. president stated that the end of current payments does not mean that all support to Israel will be cut off.
Trump said, "If they really needed it, I would say for it to continue. If they need it, we will help Israel."
Also emphasizing that Israel can continue to buy weapons from the U.S., Trump said, "They will have the option to buy the weapons they want."
