Under the executive order signed by Trump, all military personnel who were discharged for refusing to receive the Covid-19 vaccine and are requesting to return to duty will be able to rejoin the military. White House Chief of Staff Will Scharf stated, "The first is an executive order that allows military personnel who were discharged or forced to resign due to the vaccine mandate mentioned in Trump's previous speeches to return to duty. The second is an order that outlines the process for developing the American Iron Dome," he said. Scharf mentioned that the third executive order signed by Trump is related to eliminating gender radicalism in the military, while the fourth order is associated with the removal of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) offices in the military.
COVID-19 AMNESTY HAS ARRIVED
Under the executive order signed by Trump, all military personnel who were discharged for refusing the Covid-19 vaccine and are requesting to return to duty will be able to rejoin the military. Thus, more than 8,000 soldiers who were discharged between 2021 and 2023 will be able to regain their former ranks.
NEW POLICY IN THE MILITARY
The executive order will establish a new policy regarding transgender soldiers. However, there has not yet been a ban on these soldiers serving in the military. The order states that a declaration of "gender identity" that is different from an individual's gender will not meet the strict standards required for military service.
While it is still unknown how many transgender military personnel are currently serving in the U.S. military, it is estimated that this number is between 9,000 and 15,000. On January 20, when he took office, Trump signed an executive order declaring that the U.S. would recognize only "two genders, male and female."
