Recently reiterating his previous comments that Canada should be the 51st state of the U.S., Trump once again expressed his desire for Canada to be a part of the United States. In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump stated, "It was a great pleasure to have dinner with the Governor of the Great Canadian State, Justin Trudeau, last night." In response to Trudeau, who stated that a 25% increase in tariffs would negatively impact the Canadian economy, Trump mocked him by calling him "the state governor," saying, "The results will be truly fantastic for everyone. I look forward to seeing the Governor again soon so we can continue our in-depth discussions on tariffs and trade."
