US President Donald Trump deemed Iran's latest solution proposal to reduce nuclear tensions as "insufficient" and declared that Washington would not compromise on its red lines. Stating that military options against Tehran remain on the table, Trump's harsh stance led to a decision to convene a critical national security summit at the White House to reassess all options.
US President Donald Trump signaled that he will not back down in the nuclear and military tensions with Iran. In an exclusive telephone interview with the New York Post, Trump stated that they find the updated new solution proposal sent by the Tehran administration to Washington yesterday "insufficient." The US President, noting that the red lines on the table remain unchanged, painted a highly negative picture regarding negotiations.
"A 20-YEAR SUSPENSION IS NOT ENOUGH, I AM NOT OPEN TO ANYTHING"
When asked about claims circulating in the international press that Iran has agreed to suspend its uranium enrichment program for 20 years, Trump firmly shut the door. Using the words "I am not open to anything right now," Trump categorically rejected any policy of flexibility or concessions toward Tehran.
Not hiding that military options are still on the table, the US President issued a veiled warning, saying: "The Iranians know very well what will happen soon."
CRITICAL "IRAN" SUMMIT AT THE WHITE HOUSE
Following this hot development, busy hours have begun in Washington. According to insider information from the Axios news platform, citing senior US officials, President Trump is reconvening his national security team at the White House tomorrow (Tuesday) with an urgent agenda.
It was stated that Iran's latest proposal will be thoroughly discussed at the meeting, but since Trump already finds this offer "insufficient," he will reassess all options, including military ones, with his security advisors from scratch.
"TIME IS RUNNING OUT, WE WILL STRIKE HARDER THAN BEFORE"
Trump also intensified pressure on Tehran in another interview with Axios last (May 17). Emphasizing that Iran's time to make a move is rapidly diminishing, Trump warned that if attacks in the region resume, the US military will be much more brutal this time, threatening: "We will strike Iran much harder than before."
