The elected president of the United States, Donald Trump, called for steps to be taken to end the daylight saving time implemented in the U.S.

"COSTLY AND TROUBLESOME"

Trump made a statement regarding daylight saving time on his account on the social media platform Truth Social.

Trump argued that the daylight saving time implemented in the U.S. has a high cost and is troublesome for the country, stating, "The Republican Party will do everything in its power to eliminate the daylight saving time, which has a small but strong group of advocates, but should not be implemented."

IN EFFECT SINCE 1966

Some Republican senators in the U.S. have long been calling on Congress to abolish daylight saving time. The daylight saving time in the U.S. began on March 10 this year and will end on November 3, 2024, with the clocks being set back one hour.
