U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States will not defend its NATO allies if they do not pay their fair share. Trump also mentioned that he plans to travel to Saudi Arabia within the next month and a half.
In a statement to reporters in the Oval Office, U.S. President Donald Trump once again indicated that the U.S. may not defend its NATO allies if they do not meet spending targets.
"I WILL NOT DEFEND THEM IF THEY DO NOT PAY"
In response to a reporter's question in the Oval Office, "Will you make it a policy that the U.S. will not defend NATO countries that do not pay?" Trump replied, "If they do not pay, I will not defend them. No, I will not defend them. I received a lot of backlash when I said that."
