TRUMP'S NATIONAL ANTHEM REACTION TO LEBRON
Trump described the gestures NBA star LeBron James made during the US national anthem at a game against the Philadelphia 76ers as disrespectful.
''HE SHOULD APOLOGIZE''
Trump said, "While our national anthem is being sung, LeBron James is showing disrespect to our country. LeBron James should apologize to those great American soldiers and heroes who lost their lives for the American flag and all the values our country represents."
WHAT DID LEBRON DO?
LeBron James made the gestures that Trump reacted to before the New York Knicks - Philadelphia 76ers game played at Madison Square Garden in New York on October 20. During the national anthem, James was seen swinging his arms in a manner similar to warm-up movements and making shooting motions.
TRUMP HAD ALSO CRITICIZED BEFORE
Trump had repeatedly criticized the behavior of athletes during the playing of the US national anthem before games. After the American football team the Philadelphia Eagles opposed his call for players to stand during the national anthem, Trump canceled in 2018 the visit the team, which had won the Super Bowl, planned to make to the White House.
