In a statement made on the social media platform Truth Social, President Trump expressed his confidence in Isaacman regarding the management of NASA under his administration.
Trump stated that he believes NASA will successfully embark on new missions under the leadership of businessman Isaacman, who is known for having gone to space twice, and that he will elevate NASA to a new level.
WENT TO SPACE TWICE
Isaacman, who first went to space in 2021 aboard a rocket owned by Elon Musk's SpaceX, is known for having gone to space for the second time last September with another SpaceX rocket.
ANNOUNCED HE ACCEPTED
The American businessman announced in a written statement that he has accepted Trump's nomination for the NASA Directorship, saying, "After having the honor of seeing our wonderful planet from space, I am very passionate about America leading humanity's most incredible adventure in history."
Isaacman, who is also known for his close ties to Elon Musk, has made a name for himself in the American public as the founder and CEO of a payment company called Shift4. Isaacman needs to obtain Senate approval to become NASA's Director.
