The US press reported that President Donald Trump sent back the text after making changes to Tehran's latest proposal in the negotiation process with Iran, extending the process by one week. While Trump is alleged to have used harsher language regarding nuclear activities and the Strait of Hormuz, a very strong reaction came from the Iranian side. The Revolutionary Guards stated that they would not negotiate their sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, declaring, "We will fight against the enemy's excessive demands."

The US press claimed that President Donald Trump made changes to Iran's latest proposal in the negotiation process and sent the text back to Iranian officials.

USED A MUCH HARSHER TONE

According to a report by US-based CNN International, citing US officials, Trump extended the ongoing negotiation process with Iran for another week with this step. While the nature of Trump's changes to the proposal remains a mystery, officials suggested that the US President used a much harsher tone regarding Iran's nuclear energy commitments and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

The White House has not yet made a statement on the matter.

TRUMP HAD SAID AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE PARTIES WAS 'LARGELY' NEGOTIATED

This development came after a period in which Trump last week said an agreement between the parties was "largely" negotiated and then gave mixed signals by emphasizing that the agreement had not yet been fully negotiated.

The US President also stated in his remarks on May 29 that the US would extract enriched uranium from underground facilities in Iran and destroy these nuclear materials.

In his statement, Trump announced that he would attend a meeting at the White House to make his final decision on the negotiation process with Iran. According to reports in the local press, the meeting, which lasted about two hours, ended without any concrete results.

In statements made by the Iranian side, it was noted that the priority of the Tehran administration was to end the war. Iranian officials argued that uranium enrichment activities and other nuclear issues could be discussed after reaching an agreement on the 60-day memorandum of understanding they presented to the US side.

IRAN: WE WILL FIGHT AGAINST THE ENEMY'S EXTREME DEMANDS

Meanwhile, Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, Mohammad Akbarzadeh, stated that the US is stuck in a quagmire in its war with Iran, saying, "We will fight against the enemy's extreme demands."

According to Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency, Akbarzadeh made statements on the current issues during a speech at Vahdat Square in the city of Gorgan in Golestan province. Claiming that they know very well that the US is stuck in a quagmire in its war with Iran, Akbarzadeh said, "We will fight against the enemy's extreme demands. Iran will not take a step back from the new governance order of the Strait of Hormuz."

“OUR FINGERS ARE ON THE TRIGGER”

Akbarzadeh stated that the Iranian Armed Forces are standing ready with their fingers on the trigger for the defense of the country, saying, "Today, they use hired elements to protect the lives of their own soldiers. However, Iran's missiles have targeted and made insecure the bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates, and they have seen that."

Emphasizing that his country will not back down in the field of diplomacy as it does on the battlefield, Akbarzadeh claimed that US dominance in the region has ended.

Akbarzadeh noted that US President Trump is trying to return the Strait of Hormuz to its pre-war state, but they will not make Iran's sovereignty in the Strait of Hormuz a subject of negotiation, and the nuclear issue and missile issue will not change through pressure.
