US President Trump made statements regarding the Iran agenda at an event he attended at the Nassau Police Academy in New York.

Trump, arguing that the US Navy has imposed a complete blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, said, "After we completely defeat Iran, I will soon declare the Strait of Hormuz US territory."

In a statement to Fox News, Trump said they would deal a heavy economic blow to Iran. The US President said, "We will deal a heavy economic blow to Iran. I don't care whether it happens before the midterm elections."
Pointing out that their policies toward Iran are also important for the world, Trump said, "What we are doing is a great service not just for ourselves, but for the world."
Referring to the impact of a war with Iran on the US economy, Trump said, "I will never apologize when you have to pay a little more for your gasoline. I did the right thing. A very bad country cannot have nuclear weapons."
HEGSETH: WE CAN EXTEND THE BLOCKADE INDEFINITELY
Meanwhile, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that the US could continue its naval blockade against Iran "indefinitely."
According to a statement from the Pentagon, Hegseth spoke to journalists about the naval blockade on Iran in Panama, where he went for the closing ceremony of a multinational exercise.
Hegseth stated that the US military could maintain its naval presence in the region "indefinitely" to sustain the blockade against Iran, saying, "The US Navy can sustain the blockade indefinitely. Because we will rotate ships in and out as we have done and will continue to do."
Emphasizing that the blockade against Iran has no specific time limit, Hegseth reiterated that the blockade will continue "as long as necessary."
