U.S. President Donald Trump stated that significant developments have been made in the Russia-Ukraine peace process, saying that Russia is ready to reach an agreement. U.S. President Donald Trump stated that they are close to a peace agreement in the Russia-Ukraine process, saying, "I think Russia is ready for an agreement. I believe we have reached an agreement with Russia, now we need to agree with Zelensky."

President Trump made evaluations regarding the Russia-Ukraine War during a signing ceremony held in the Oval Office.

"WE HAVE REACHED AN AGREEMENT WITH RUSSIA"

Trump said that peace talks with Russia and Ukraine are ongoing and that he believes they will reach an agreement with both countries.

"I think Russia is ready for an agreement. I believe we have reached an agreement with Russia, now we need to agree with Zelensky. I thought it would be easier to reach an agreement with Zelensky, but so far it has been more difficult. But that's okay, I think we can reach an agreement with both." Trump stated that ending the war is the biggest goal.

In response to a question, Trump noted that he could meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin not in Saudi Arabia, but shortly after that, emphasizing that they have made more progress in reaching an agreement with Russia.

"IF BOTH ARE HAPPY, I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE REST"

Answering a question about what kind of policy he would follow regarding Russia's annexation of Crimea, Trump said, "If both are happy, and if they have signed an agreement, I don't care about the rest. One is not my favorite."

WHAT HAPPENED?

President Trump had argued that Ukrainian President Zelensky's statement that "Ukraine will not legally recognize the occupation of Crimea" was "extremely harmful" to the negotiations with Russia.

Trump stated in a statement made at the White House the day before that the Russia-Ukraine process is progressing positively, saying, "The likelihood of the Russia-Ukraine agreement happening this week is quite high."

Trump's Special Representative Steve Witkoff also met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow last week, and the White House announced that the talks were progressing positively and that Witkoff would go to Moscow again this week.
