The talks and final points, in both concept and great detail, have been approved by all relevant parties, including the United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, and others. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf responded to U.S. President Donald Trump's threat that they would "seize Kharg Island and other oil infrastructure points."
Arguing that wrong strategies and hasty decisions would overturn all balances in the region, making matters even worse for the U.S., and that blowing up energy infrastructure and markets would create an endless quagmire from which the Washington administration could not escape for years, Ghalibaf said, "You will see a completely different Iran before you."
TRUMP: WE WILL STRIKE VERY HARD
Meanwhile, after an American Apache-type helicopter was shot down in the Strait of Hormuz, Trump stated that they would increase the pace in military operations. Stating that operations against Iran would continue, Trump said, "We will strike Iran very hard tonight, we will seize Iranian oil soon."
Highlights from Trump's statements: "The United States will strike Iran (whose attack capability has largely been neutralized along with its navy, air force, radars, anti-aircraft systems, and all other defense elements) very hard tonight.
In the not-too-distant future, we will seize Kharg Island and other oil infrastructure points, gaining full control over Iran's oil and natural gas markets, similar to the practice we implemented in Venezuela, which yielded great results for both Venezuela and the United States."
IMPORTANCE OF KHARG ISLAND
Located in the Persian Gulf, approximately 30 kilometers off the Iranian mainland, Kharg Island stands out as one of the most critical strategic points for the country's oil exports. According to information in Iranian media, Kharg Island is known as the main terminal where approximately 90 percent of Iran's oil exports are carried out.
The island, with a surface area of approximately 21 square kilometers, is located off the coast of Bushehr province. It is situated about 30 kilometers from the Iranian mainland and about 55 kilometers from the port of Bushehr. Although it hosts oil terminals, Kharg Island is also a settlement with a population of approximately 8,200 people.
