Many years ago, Ferdi Tayfur, who quit singing and lived a quiet life away from the public eye, made headlines with the problems he had with his musician daughter, Tuğçe Tayfur. Tayfur announced that he would file a lawsuit against his daughter, who opened her own clothing store after quitting singing, for using their last name for commercial purposes. His daughter wasted no time in responding to the singer's words.

Tuğçe Tayfur, who published the statement made through her lawyer in response to her father's request, said, "The storks didn't give me the Tayfur last name. You are my father, that's why my last name is Tayfur. You have demanded the right to use my name. If I knew that you were out of money, I would have helped you with my husband. I did what you said as a father, but I still became the bad one. God exists, no worries. This matter also has an afterlife that you don't believe in, father. It's okay. I will continue as Tuğçe Aydın." She expressed her dissatisfaction.

Tuğçe Tayfur, who also responded to her father's refusal to let her sing his songs, continued her words as follows: "As for your songs, the main purpose of the 'My Father's Songs' album was due to your inability to sing because of your illness at that time, for the new generation to remember and know your songs. It was a project. The songs chosen in that album were completely yours in terms of lyrics and music. Especially they were selected. Otherwise, I would have known to sing more well-known songs like 'Bana Sor' written by Ahmet ağabey. All the expenses of the album were covered by dear Bülent Seyhan. If a penny passed, I wouldn't see the good of my children. What is this enmity? How is this hatred just because your nephew talked behind my back and I raised my voice? Take your nephews, they are yours, father. I'm not doing anything behind your back, I say what it is. I don't want a penny from you, I'm not flattering you, and you insulted me in 2 seconds. Take your last name, it's yours."

Ferdi Tayfur, who did not even attend his daughter's wedding and continued his life away from the public eye during this process, made a statement through his lawyer, stating that he did not give consent for his daughter to use his last name for commercial purposes and to perform his works on social media, digital platforms, and stages. In the statement made by Tayfur's lawyer, the following statements were included: "Due to some special reasons between my client Mr. Ferdi Tayfur and his daughter Tuğçe Aydın, my client does not give consent for the 'Tayfur' last name to be used by Tuğçe Aydın for visual and auditory commercial purposes, and my client has the right to obtain his name due to Tuğçe Aydın's 'Tuğçe Tayfur Store' store, and we inform Tuğçe Aydın to refrain from making any statements or remarks about my client Mr. Ferdi Tayfur, his nephews, and relatives on social media and digital platforms. If our statements are not taken into consideration, we reserve all our legal rights and declare that we will file a criminal complaint with the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor against Tuğçe Aydın and individuals or companies who work and act together with Tuğçe Aydın."
