The Ministry of Trade Advertising Board imposed fines on Turkey's leading ready-to-wear manufacturers due to the misleading nature of the 'discount' campaigns they implemented in their stores and on their websites.

"DISCOUNT STATEMENTS ARE DECEPTIVE"

According to the news by Barış Şimşek from Takvim; the board's investigations found that many clothing manufacturers used deceptive expressions in their discount campaigns, such as 'up to 80% off'.

Additionally, it was among the ministry's findings that when comparing the prices of products claimed to be discounted with their prices from the last 30 days, it was determined that no actual discounts were applied.

STOCK QUANTITIES WERE FOUND TO BE VERY LOW

Moreover, it was determined that the stock quantities of products announced through advertising campaigns across the country were very low, and despite creating the perception that there would be enough products for everyone who demanded them, some products had only 11 units in stock.

THE LIST INCLUDES FAMOUS BRANDS

Among the companies fined for the determination that the applied discounts do not reflect reality are Beymen, Vakko, Cacharel, Sarar, Boyner, Network, Ramzey, and D'S damat.
