A decree published by Ahmad al-Shara in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief established a new appointment list of 49 individuals, with the decision announced to be valid until March. Among the appointed individuals are commanders from armed groups affiliated with HTS, including those from Turkey, Albania, Turkmenistan, East Turkestan, Jordan, Morocco, and Egypt. TURKISH CITIZEN APPOINTED AS BRIGADIER GENERALÖmer Muhammed Çiftçi, a Turkish citizen known as Muhtar Türki, has been appointed as Brigadier General in the new Syrian Army. After obtaining Syrian citizenship, he was promoted to the rank of brigadier general with the first decree published. Ömer Muhammed Çiftçi has been alongside Ahmad al-Shara since the days of the Nusra Front. According to the decree, Abdulrahman Hussein Khatib, a Jordanian citizen of Palestinian descent, has been promoted to the rank of brigadier general. Khatib, known as Abu Hussein al-Jordani, is a graduate of the University of Jordan's Faculty of Medicine and has been in Syria since 2013. Khatib is known for his closeness to HTS leader Ahmad al-Shara and is tasked with overseeing disputes among armed groups. He is currently part of HTS's military council.
