Turkiye's benchmark stock index Borsa Istanbul closed at 2,529.26 points on Monday with a daily loss of 0.97%.
Starting the day at 2,489.74 points, the index decreased 24.82 points from Friday's close of 2,554.08.
The index's lowest value during the day was 2,483.01 points and its highest was 2,548.73.
Its total market value was more than 2.1 trillion Turkish liras ($124.4 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of over 30.7 billion Turkish liras ($1.8 billion).
During the first transaction day of the week, 22 stocks on the index rose, 77 fell, and one remained unchanged compared to Friday's close.
The highest trading volumes were posted by national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, glassmaker Sise Cam and steel producer Eregli.
Conglomerate Bera Holding was the best performer of the day with its shares up 9.98%, while automotive company Dogus Otomotiv (DOAS) saw the biggest drop of 5.58%.
One ounce of gold traded for $1,837.15 by market close, up from $1,832.10 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was up 1.48% to reach $110.72 per barrel as of 6.16 p.m. local time (1516GMT).
