A serious allegation has emerged regarding the fire disaster in Bolu Kartalkaya, which claimed the lives of 79 people. AFAD teams, who intervened in the flames without regard for their own safety, wanted to stay in a building operated near the hotel to rest. According to a report by TV100, it was claimed that the teams were asked to pay for their accommodation.
In the Grand Kartal Hotel, a 12-story building where 238 people were staying in Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Resort, a fire broke out around 03:30, resulting in the tragic loss of 76 lives and injuries to 51 others. In this incident that plunged all of Turkey into mourning, some of the guests staying at the hotel tried to escape by tying bed sheets together and climbing down from the windows, while others attempted to save themselves by jumping out of the window.
CLAIM OF CHARGES REQUESTED FROM AFAD TEAMS
Firefighters and teams from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) were dispatched to the scene following the emergency call during the life-threatening fire. While the firefighters intervened in the flames, AFAD teams initiated search and rescue operations for those trapped in the hotel. For more than 24 hours, the teams, who disregarded their own safety to intervene in the incident, wanted to stay in a building operated by the hotel to rest. According to a report by TV100, it was claimed that AFAD teams were asked to pay for their accommodation.

TV100 reporter Fatih Poyraz stated that there are still phone calls coming into the reception and that there are guests who want to make reservations and stay at the hotel.
