The possibility of a preliminary agreement between the US and Iran, including the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz for energy shipments, has created relief in the markets. Following the decline in oil prices, expectations of a discount on fuel have arisen, with a reduction of 69 kuruş on gasoline tonight and approximately 5.30 TL on diesel starting Saturday.
Following the decline in oil markets and changes in exchange rates, an expectation of a reduction in fuel prices has emerged. A price drop is expected for gasoline on Friday, May 8, and for diesel on Saturday, May 9.
GASOLINE EXPECTED TO DECREASE BY 69 KURUS
According to industry sources, a reduction of 2.74 TL is forecast for the gasoline group starting from Friday, May 8. However, since 75 percent of this reduction will be reflected in the Special Consumption Tax (SCT), it is expected to reflect on pump prices as a decrease of approximately 69 kurus per liter.
It was stated that the final decision and implementation date will be clarified by the relevant authorities.
DIESEL SEES OVER 5 TL REDUCTION ON THE AGENDA
Unless there is a sudden sharp price increase in international markets, a reduction of approximately 5.30 TL per liter is expected in the diesel group starting from Saturday, May 9.
CURRENT FUEL PRICES
As of May 7, on the European side of Istanbul, the liter price of gasoline is 64.47 TL, diesel is 71.77 TL, and LPG is 33.89 TL.
On the Asian side of Istanbul, gasoline is sold at 64.33 TL, diesel at 71.63 TL, and LPG at 33.29 TL.
In Ankara, the liter price of gasoline is 65.44 TL, diesel is 72.89 TL, and LPG is 33.87 TL, while in Izmir, gasoline is offered at 65.72 TL, diesel at 73.16 TL, and LPG at 33.69 TL.
