A Dutch drug baron, sought by France via a red notice for international drug trafficking and money laundering, was caught in Istanbul at his hideout through a joint operation by MIT and the police. Additionally, a Swedish drug baron, also wanted via a red notice, was detained in Izmir's Çeşme district.
In a study coordinated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, in partnership with the Istanbul Provincial Police Department's Narcotics Crimes Branch, Intelligence Branch, the National Intelligence Organization (MIT), and Interpol, it was determined that the suspect sought by French judicial authorities was in Kağıthane.
OPERATION AGAINST DRUG LORD IN ISTANBUL
In the operation carried out by the teams, the suspect S.K. (35), a Dutch national, who was wanted via a "diffusion message" by French judicial authorities on the grounds of committing international drug trafficking, possession, transportation, and enabling the concealment and conversion of income derived from drug trafficking, thus engaging in money laundering, was arrested.
ONE PERSON DETAINED IN IZMIR AS WELL
Meanwhile, drug lord N.A., a Swedish citizen wanted by Interpol via a Red Notice, was detained at the address where he was hiding in Izmir's Cesme district during a joint operation by MIT and the Izmir Provincial Police Department's Narcotics Crimes Branch.
