New developments have occurred in the bribery and criminal organization investigations conducted by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices of Istanbul and Manisa. Two more suspects were detained in the investigations carried out in line with the statements given by suspended Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım under the scope of effective remorse and MASAK reports. While cash and digital materials were seized during searches at the addresses, the suspects were arrested for being members of a criminal organization for profit and mediating bribery.
New developments have occurred in the bribery and criminal organization investigations conducted in Manisa and Istanbul. Two suspects, considered to be linked to the names mentioned in the testimony given by Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım under the effective remorse provision, were taken into custody and subsequently arrested.
The testimony given by Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım, who was arrested on charges of being a member of a criminal organization for profit and bribery as part of the investigation led by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and subsequently suspended from duty, under the effective remorse provisions, opened the door to a new phase in the investigation.
It was learned that Yalım stated in his testimony that he delivered 1 million Turkish Lira to Demirhan Gözaçan in Denizli. It was reported that Gözaçan was also arrested on charges of being a member of a criminal organization for profit and bribery as part of the ongoing investigation.
MASAK AND HTS RECORDS WERE EXAMINED
In a separate investigation conducted by the Manisa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, MASAK reports, HTS records, and other evidence were examined. Based on the evaluations, arrest and detention orders were issued for Cem Yüzer and Anıl Demir, who were alleged to have acted together with Demirhan Gözaçan.
Pursuant to the decision, searches were carried out at the suspects' addresses on June 10, 2026, and the two individuals were taken into custody.
CASH AND DIGITAL MATERIALS WERE SEIZED DURING SEARCHES
During the search at Cem Yüzer's residence, 1 mobile phone, 1 USB flash drive, 1 tablet, 1 notebook, and 80,000 Turkish Lira in cash were seized.
In the search at Anıl Demir's address, 1 mobile phone was confiscated.
TWO SUSPECTS WERE ARRESTED
After their processing at the police station, Cem Yüzer and Anıl Demir were referred to the Manisa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and were arrested on charges of being members of a criminal organization for profit and mediating bribery.
Meanwhile, it was reported that Demirhan Gözaçan, previously arrested as part of the investigation led by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, was also separately arrested on charges of being a member of a criminal organization for profit and mediating bribery within the scope of the Manisa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office investigation.
