Tensions escalated in the Strait of Hormuz after an oil tanker belonging to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was targeted by drones. Shortly after the tanker attack, Iran launched a missile strike on UAE territory. Following the incident, military units and air defense systems in the region were put on the highest alert level.

THE LAST MISSILE FELL INTO THE SEA

In an official statement by the UAE Ministry of Defense, it was stated that three out of four missiles launched from Iran were successfully intercepted by air defense systems. A statement was made by the UAE's National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority.

"Air defense systems are currently active against the missile threat," the statement said, urging citizens to stay in a safe place and follow warnings from official authorities.

Meanwhile, in a statement from the UAE Ministry of Defense, it was said, "Four cruise missiles approaching the country from Iran were detected. Three of them were successfully intercepted over the country's territorial waters, and one fell into the sea."

The statement, which noted that the sounds heard in various parts of the country were the result of the successful prevention of aerial threats, called on citizens to obtain information from official sources, verify facts, and follow safety procedures when warning messages are received.

FIRE BROKE OUT AT OIL FACILITY

A fire broke out at an oil facility following a drone attack on the city of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates. No statement was made regarding the extent of the fire.

UAE-OWNED OIL SHIP ALSO HIT

Meanwhile, in a written statement by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was stated that an ADNOC tanker was hit by two Iranian-origin drones during its passage. The attack was strongly condemned in the statement.

NO LOSS OF LIFE

While it was stated that there were no casualties or injuries in the attack, it was noted that the incident was a clear violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, which emphasizes freedom of navigation and prohibits attacks on commercial vessels.

EMPHASIS ON "PIRACY"
